Department for Work and Pensions 'wasted' £13.9 billion due to fraud and error in one year

Speaking to the Daily Mail, which published these findings, our head of campaigns, Elliot Keck, said:
"Taxpayers have been absolutely horrified by the degree to which fraud and error has drained key departments of resources, all the while ministers watch on.
"But nothing will match the fury of pensioners who have been told that their winter fuel allowance is unaffordable, while billions of pounds go missing from the accounts.
"Ministers should remember that if they want a pot of cash, cracking down on crime and cock-ups would deliver them a healthy revenue stream if done right."
