TaxPayers’ Alliance responds to Lineker’s apology for sharing an antisemitic post

For immediate release
Responding to Gary Lineker’s apology for sharing an antisemitic post, Elliot Keck, head of campaigns at the TaxPayers' Alliance, said:
“Lineker’s loathsome social media posts have brought the Beeb crashing to a new reputational low.
“It isn’t just about one offensive post, but a pattern of behaviour that has brought the state broadcaster into disrepute while he rakes in a massive £1.3 million taxpayer-funded salary.
“The BBC must stop indulging Lineker’s political grandstanding and sever ties now. If they are serious about restoring credibility, they cannot continue to reward those who spread hate.”
